I have been a fan of Fiorellino snack bar ever since they first open! I remember they use to serve a parmesan risotto and it was the best one I had ever had! When I heard they were serving a brunch, I had to try it out!
Fiorellino is a restaurant that serves authentic Italian food in a lovely welcoming matter. They now have two locations, one in Outremont on Laurier and also one Downtown on de la Gauchetière. I have been multiple times before for dinner and now they have been serving brunch only for a couple of weeks at their Laurier location. As expected it did not disappoint!
We started off our brunch with some Italian classics:
Il cestino (9$). This sharing plate normally include a bombolone Nutella, a sfogliatella (ricotta filled pastry) and grilled toast with marmelade.
As it is rhubarb season at the moment, we also got to try a rhubarb filled bombolone! The marmelade that were offered to us was nutella, rhubarb compote (MIAMM) and a fig compote! All in all, definitely worth the price! Bread is very filling and I feel like this would be a perfect sharing plate for a brunch appetizer!
Afterwards, we shared:
Unfortunately, I do not eat caviar or salmon so my partner was the one who ate it.... And he ate it all... by himself! I think that means he loved it! He kept telling me it was the best breakfast he had ever had! So, all salmon lovers out there, this is worth the price!! As for the pancakes, they were fluffy, moist and soooo delicious, but VERY sweet! It's a perfect dish to share but I would not have been able to finish it all on my own and I have a very sweet tooth! I do recommend trying it but as a sharing plate!
There are so many items on the menu we didn't have a chance to try, so we will definitely be back!
Until then,
Chow!!
