Spending a week in Portugal this summer? We visited Porto for 8 days and it was an incredible destination perfect to enjoy you Euro Summer!
Welcome to the ultimate guide to Porto! Whether you're a local looking for new experiences or a visitor ready to explore the city, this guide is your go-to resource for all things dining and activities. From iconic landmarks to hidden gems, let's dive into the heart of Porto's vibrant culture, delicious cuisine, and endless entertainment options. Here you will learn all about a day trip to Aveiro and Costa Nova!
Despite what people think, Porto's public transport makes it very accessible to get around the city as well as other cities such as Aveiro and Costa Nova. From Campanha and Sao Bento take a train directly to Aveiro Station (1h or 1h30 depending on the train taken)! You can book your tickets in advance online or at the station or take them day of (but sometimes trains do get sold out!). There are trains every hour or so making it very accessible. Afterwards, from there, Costa Nova is a 10 minute drive away (I would suggest using the uber app).
Visit & Take photos of the canals navigated by colorful boats (barcos moliceiros), traditionally used to harvest seaweed. The Cais dos Mercanteis was my favorite view of the canals!
Try out ovos-moles de Aveiro a local pastry delicacy made of egg yolks and sugar
Historically used by fishermen to store gear they are located in Costa Nova
