If you are looking for something different than apple picking for a nice fall day, drinking wine in Dunham is definitely the way to go!
Start your morning off with a stop in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and have your morning coffee and pastry at Autour de la Table. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and also sell a variety of Quebec local products. Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu itself is very pretty so feel free to walk along the water a little bit before continuing your journey!
After breakfast, make your way to Bedford to shop at Atelier Tréma. This is a beautiful workshops that sells handmade dishware, wood pieces , pears and other decorative pieces. Definitely a must stop!
Located at 205, Chemin Ridge Saint-Armand, this winery was the first stop on our itinerary. They offer a variety of activities at the vineyard including visits and tastings. We decided to grab a wine flight in the gift store and enjoy it on a picnic table which is also a fun option if you want to do multiple wineries in the day.
Located on the Wine Route, this is the oldest vineyard in Quebec. In my opinion, it is also the prettiest one. This of course means that it is extremely busy all day. We took the package which includes a glass of wine and a visit for 8$. With your glass you can also walk around the whole vineyard and sit down at their cute tables located in the garden.
The last winery we visited was the most recommended place we went to. It is located right beside Domaine des Cotes d'Ardoise. Every weekend, they offer a tasting package that is 13$/person and includes 4 wine "shots" of the winemaker's choice and a souvenir glass. Definitely take the time to walk around the vineyard to enjoy the beautiful weeping willow trees.
Before heading to both wineries on the Wine Route, we stopped in Frelighsburg to enjoy lunch at a nice café/bar. It is located inside a hat store and is definitely worth a visit. We had an amaretto sour and rosé sangria for drinks and, as for food, we shared a potato salad, veggies and dip as well as a ratatouille (not shown on the picture). Everything was so good!
If you are a fan of sweets, this is a must stop as well! They sell the classic maple syrup pie which is loved by many locals. It's always super busy with a long line but definitely worth the wait!
Bon Appétit & Safe Travels!
