The Laws in Ottawa concerning furry friends have changed a lot recently allowing more and more patios to accept dogs! What we decided to do is not the only restaurants allowing furry friends so don't be shy to give a restaurant a call to just ask and see! You may be allowed to bring your doggy!
To start off our day, we didn't change much our itinierary from when we usually go to Ottawa. In fact, we most often go to the same coffee shop, Little Victories, because in our opinion it's the best in the city! Located on Bank St, they still serve their coffee from the cute container in the back of the coffee shop. As well, on weekends they sell donuts from Suzy Q (A must if you can get them, best donuts!).
After grabbing our morning coffee to go, we usually go to Patterson Creek, a very nice spot located 10 minutes away (by foot). With a dog, this is the perfect spot to sit down and relax in the shade for some time while eating breakfast aka coffee and donuts.
After some relaxing time, we changed location to Downtown Ottawa for a little walk & shop in Byward Market. Although, very busy on weekends, it's still a must whenever in Ottawa and dogs are allowed outside even in the Market portion of the Byward Market.
Now, for the highlight of our day, in my opinion of course, Lunch Time! We decided to treat ourselves with the To Go High Tea experience from Zoe's in Fairmount Chateau Laurier. Due to the pandemic, they now offer their high tea to go and honestly I was totally impressed. Being both light eaters and also going to dinner at 5pm to not get back to late, we got one adult high tea and a child high tea menu. This was perfect for us and we even had leftovers to bring home. Being with our dog, staying in the center of Ottawa to eat our High Tea wasn't ideal and so we decided to go back to Patterson Creek which was the best decision! The place is just stunning & made for such a magical set up! I would genuinely love to live right beside that creek!
We also found out that it is possible to Kayak in the creek. After some more research, here is a websites that allows you to rent out kayaks to bring to the creek and kayak to the Canal Rideau: http://www.rideau-info.com/canal/boat_rent.html
After a little more down time, it was dinner time! I found the cutest patio that allows dogs and even has dog treats ready for your pup when you get there: Town! In fact, they have 3 different patios you can sit on but reservations are highly recommended as it is a very popular place.
For food, here is what we got:
As for drinks, I can't recall the name of the drink I had, but honestly one of the best cocktails I have ever had! Truly recommend this place with or without a dog!
